President and Owner of JGA

Tom has nearly 30 years of compliance experience with emphasis on the safe and efficient transportation of dangerous goods. He is currently the President and Chief Technical Officer for Currie Associates, and Administrator for the Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA) and the International Vessel Operators Dangerous Goods Association (IVODGA).

A graduate of the University of Tennessee–Knoxville, Jerry’s expertise is in the area of radioactive shipments. He has over 50 years’ experience in regulatory compliance and hazardous materials transportation, including 24 years conducting regulatory compliance training. He has served as Associate Staff to the US DOT's Transportation Safety Institute in Oklahoma City, and formerly served on the instructional staff at George Washington University's Aviation Safety and Security Management Program.

He also holds the status of Diplomate With Honors in Dangerous Goods Instruction awarded by the International Air Transport Associated in Geneva, Switzerland.

A graduate of California Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a retired Fire Captain, Mike's experience in the transportation of dangerous goods comes from over 20 years of logistics as a team member for one of FEMA's 28 National Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) teams. He shares real world experiences of moving all types of rescue and life saving equipment over the road, by commercial airlift, and by Military airlift in support of disaster responses nationally and internationally. Mike has been an instructor with JGA since 2022 and although he specializes in the movement of the FEMA US&R caches, he also assists in the delivery of our public courses.

We’re excited to expand our instructor team and service offerings through our collaboration with Currie Associates, enhancing our capabilities in regulatory training, auditing, and consulting. This partnership allows us to offer a wider range of dangerous goods transportation training, including ADR (Europe), Transport Canada (TDG), and Mexican NOMs. We’re also now able to provide customized e-learning solutions tailored to your company’s needs, as well as training in Spanish and French.

Marsha Oliva

Marsha has served as the Training Coordinator of JGA for over 18 years. Ensuring a positive experience with students and clients she is your first line of contact via phone call, email and website inquiry. She collaborates closely with the regulatory compliance team to ensure access to current training resources, including the JGA Study Guide, online training programs, and supplemental regulatory publications and handouts. Dedicated to client satisfaction, Marsha manages online, private, and public training sessions from beginning to end—including, student contact and relations, training discovery and advisories, proposal development and quoting, scheduling, public training registration processing, inventory planning and coordination, invoicing, issuing completion certificates, training record managment, website management and marketing.
